very fun and addictive

(+1)

the pixel art is gorgeous and the game is very nice, I didn't saw many types of dices though, just a quick suggestion: when I lose I was expecting to see an ending screen with statistics, instead, it just went to the biginig.

(+2)(-1)

Some suggestions for the future maybe:
* Check-points (you restart at 10th floor if you finished it)
* Finish turn button could light up when you can press it (was slightly discrete)
* Option to select which opponent to attack? :D

Really enjoyed playing. ;D
(Got stuck at floor 16)

2 tanky shell bugs with that ninja lookin one that double attacks in the back. got shredded

Yupp :D

That's where my journey ended 😅

Very successful game. I want online version of this game. I think, it would be great if we could play against other people.

i love the idea of that

Really liked the game, love the concept, very captivating! Great work :D

is so good, but is just batlles with no final, i play just 1hrs

I just lost a whole day to your game... Awesome job! This could easily be made into a full fledged game.

Very good job

This is lightning in a bottle.

Fun fact, if you get the poop attack die that only does 1 damage no matter what and upgrade it, it does 6 damage every turn no matter what. Really enjoyed this game but wish it was longer, which it seems it may be in the future.

You mean the poop dice? That's nice, you have to live with some garbage for a while but then get a slightly op dice afterwards

Awesome game. I enjoyed so much.

Great game, I finished it a few times and I use it during boring calls in work to keep myself occupied :)

Some of my impressions about the balance:

1) Heavy green dice are overpowered. You don't even need armor, you can just pump your number up constantly and stall the final blow to get full HP. Having heavy green might be okay, but it should still be crystal.

2) Final boss is a bit easy. I think it can have 40 or even 50 HP so it is a bit more challenging.

3) Remove dice strategy is real. Some people already mentioned it, but removing three dice early on and then focusing on updating the rest seems to be the way to go. It is worth it to get new dice only at level 15+ to get some golden heavies.

Looking forward for future updates.

yeah next update definitely need to do something about the "remove dice" strat early game... just used it and beat the final boss in 2 turns lol

Had lots of fun playing this. Good Turn-Based Strategy Game. Made it to floor 16.

I've beaten this after a day or so of playing it too much. It's really cool! My favorite part is the board itself, and I definitely think you could do more with it - enemies that block slots of the board, Lonely Dice that need to not be next to anything else in order to work, alternate characters with different boards, upgrades to particular spaces on the board, who knows!

There also isn't that much... dice-like about the dice, I guess. Nothing rolls them, they're just static numbers. Maybe a Boost-like dice type that rerolls the things they're next to? (With some kind of cap, of course).

I also think the rarity system needs to be more obvious in-game; there were a lot of times I was confused about why my silver Block die was only worth 3 points.

Could you make a mobile version of this game so we could play it on the go

I would love to see it

(and yes i really like the game just so you know)

(+1)

I agree! Mobile version would be fantastic!

Y E S

This game is so great and soo deep, I been playing it all the time (also shows how much I like hard games), and it feels so good to get an epic build, and you always are crafting a new one! I can't wait to see more, expeshaly unique items like the mirror die. Also I see there is a counter for the number of dies you can place, possible increase in max dice upgrade!?!? Expeshily with the quote "sometimes an ENDING is not really an ENDING". I will be keeping a close eye on this game!

Haha thank you! We hope you'll like the next update :)

why reseting when died?? add permament upgrdes pls

Its a rouglelike

(+3)

PLEASE ADD PERMENANT UPGRADES LIKE UPGRADING YOUR STARTING STATS AND DICE, OR NEW CHARACTEERS WITH NEW ABILITYS PLEEEEEAS!

Here’s my take on your game:

Overall Rating: 8/10

Visuals: 10/10

Loved the art style of the game and its visuals.

Sound Design: 9/10

Another great aspect of this game my only complaint is that background music gets repetitive if you play for a long time.

Gameplay: 7/10

I think this is the weakest part of your game. It needs more special effect dice because currently there seems to be only one winning strategy that is to delete your both attack dice and buff the last one to gold. Another issue that I found that if you get matched against Block – Heal – Archer trio with one of them being boss it becomes almost impossible to win this level.

UI: 10/10

UI was also pretty clear and will love to see a main menu in the future. :)

Some Thoughts:

These are some features you can add:  more dice like some aoe effect dice, maybe some kind of one-hit kill dice. Also, some ways to select which enemy to attack.

Overall really loved your game will love to see more of your work.

Thank you for the feedback. As the one who made the art, I feel very flattered!

Does A Non-Crystal Healing Die Exist?

I got a crystal mirror die, but I don't think healing dies have non-crystal, or you will be able to go super defence and heal all the way up with an enemy one hit from death

Yeah there is one, but it is quite rare to appear ^^

Ok Thanks I Dont Mind It Being Rare I Just Want To Know It Exists

uhhhhh, I found one.
So I think when you get a new die from the "Get new die", you can apparently get the most powerful heal die in the whole game a gold non-crystal healing die.

wow 17 floor first try very well

I feel like the ability to remove 3 dice in a turn seems way too powerful, but maybe that's by design. Anyways, was a fun time playing this.

(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! ^^

I had a ton of fun playing.

The most broken strat seems to be getting 2 remove dice rewards within the first 5 levels so that you only have one of each kind of dice (or two defense if you want). You can hit “done” without removing all 3. Then focus on leveling up the dice you have. This will ensure you get the same strong dice every turn, allowing you to steamroll until round 16-ish. If you have to get an extra die, try to get a mirror die or another defense die. Mirror + a gold defense die every turn is broken. You don’t even need to use heavy dice, but they help in the late game. I’ve found that a second healing die is sometimes a hinderance because it takes up a slot on the loadout and rarely gets used.

(+1)

Thank you for your comment :) It looks like the removing dice will have to be modified since when we the dev team play the game we also tend to abuse that option for an optimal deck haha

could just have a minimum required # of dice in deck

yeah I figured out that strat too, hopefully next update changes things

(+2)

Hey! I absolutely loved playing Die in the Dungeon I've never seen any other turn based game like it! I hope u keep developing the game so I can play more! Good luck! >:D

Thank you so much! :D

(+3)

Wonderful game, has the potential of an indie hit. The presentation and graphics are just the icing on the cake. Discovering cool synergies and combos makes it addictive

(+1)

We are glad you liked it ^^

(+3)

Awesome! I had a lot of fun with this game, it took a few attempts to beat, but I had a lot of fun with it. A little more variety with the enemies would've been nice, but it looks like this is still in development and a wonderful start. It was actually so good, I signed in just to leave a comment and say I liked it. Keep it up, please!

Thank you! We are going to keep giving updates to the game hope you like them ^^

(+1)

7/10 I really appreciate the concept of using dices. It's fun, strategic, and unique. The enemies in the game are also really nice. The game's not too hard, but it just gets repetitive for a while. I also hope for a little story in the game (albeit I didn't finish all of the levels) but I overall found the game pretty nice!

(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! The current version is very similar to the one for the game jam this game was initially meant for, so all the things had to be rushed, however with new updates we will be introducing new enemies, bosses and dices too!

hopefully more levels come soon

(+2)

If you bring only heal dice into a battle, and then use them all up, you will softlock the game (don't ask me why I tested this I don't rightfully know).

Haha, we should've thought about that one. Thank you for letting us know, it'll be fixed in the next update ;)

(+3)

it would be cool if we could also fight friends

Funny enough, we though about something like that in the developing of the game, that you could fight vs or with friends and their dices also displayed in the board and boost each other but we discarded the idea since it was too much work for a jam game, but now that we are developing this outside of the jam, who knows ;)

pretty fun but also pretty hard

(+3)

I would love to get an android port at some point this seems like the perfect mobile game

incredible !

(+3)

Real fun game, would like to see it become something big. With more variety in dice and more floors. love it!!

玩的挺上头,简单又有趣:D

(+1)

like this game( •̀∀•́ )(ฅ>ω<*ฅ)

reached floor 11 at my last attempt. this was a nice ride but it got extremely frustrated D:

(I mean that as a compliment; I can't go for another run bc it's 4h38am here and I've been throwing dices for the last 90 minutes, I guess that tells a story)

Its Kool! Very challenging after some floors. Highest i got is 18

Novel idea, cool. But the gameplay gets a bit repetitive overall. Especially when some battles take a dozen or more rounds (dang healing moths and shield guys). And then random choice of dice + plus low rolls on dice can really screw over the player, especially when one ends up in battles where the enemies can attack many times per round (such as multiple dual-attack guys, or a purple five-attack fly with other flies that get targeted first).
