1. When fighting the Bee with music and sfx muted when it goes into red mode the sound comes back on.
2. When you beat the frog the second time the text says "Not even with this cursed sword I can beat you" I think it's supposed to be "can I beat you"
I like the change to the floor skipping event. Previously there was no reward and no reason to use it, this gives you something for losing out on upgrades.
Got into a battle after having my dice randomized and after one turn lost my only red die. I had 7 boost and one shield, so I couldn't take damage, but couldn't deal damage. Soft locked.
This game is a unique turn based roguelike game that uses dice instead of cards as a means to block, heal, and deal damage. Very easy to play, and get addicted to!
This game really surprised me with how unique its mechanics were! Familiar enough to grasp easily, but unique enough to offer a very distinct gameplay experience from anything I've ever played. The graphics are gorgeous, the gameplay is solid. New characters when? My only gripe is the music, which was a little lacking, IMO!
Here's my video on it! I'll be keeping an eye on this one!
This is an incredible game @Alarts. Thank you for making it! I can't wait to see what new mechanics you'll include in future updates.
One suggestion I have is to include an exit button. I downloaded the game since the browser version doesn't seem to save progress, and I haven't been able to find a way to exit the application from within it.
this game is very good but the boss is simply impossible to pass please fix it there because there is simply no way I've done countless good runs and on the boss I couldn't pass at all and when I was playing I felt that there was little variety of dice but other than that it's too good
Hey there, I am sorry to hear that, perhaps you miss the boss mechanic? It involves placing those honey dice correctly, once you understand it, it gets much easier!
I’m kind of obsessed with this?? It’s exactly the game I was looking for and I don’t know how I would’ve found it on purpose - but I’m so glad I stumbled into it!
I love the deckbuilding, and the turn-based combat, and the permadeath. But I especially love the dice placement mechanic, that’s so inspired.
I can’t wait to play more of this when I get the time! ^^
qq for you @alarts; have you ever played dice masters? It's the one of the few "dice building" games from IRL that I'm familiar with -- maybe a good resource for inspiring additional content/further development of Die in the Dungeon? Happy to help however I can; brain-storming, coding, etc., etc. Just lmk/DM me
I really love the game, althrough I found a bug: dice at their highest level can still get upgraded by the "3 random upgrades" encounter, which wastes the upgrade.
I just completed the game, and I'd like to commend you on a well-designed roguelike. The art is neat, readable, and unique; the mechanics are largely interesting; and the game is challenging but not insurmountable.
A few notes of feedback:
The addition of floor events is a great choice, which helps provide different deck-building choices while breaking the monotony of combat. However, punishing random events (especially the rolling pill bug) can destroy a run with a single random roll, which feels really bad because it surpasses skill and strategy.
There were a few options that never felt particularly useful or helpful when I used them that may benefit from tuning: replacing a die with a heal die in the fairy pool was never more optimal than the old reliable +3 MAX HP. I was also in general underwhelmed by terrain dice, since they're both less interesting and less reliable than boost dice of the same tier.
The two bosses both have interesting and unique designs, and I like how they interact with the player's bag and board respectively. The fact that they appear nigh-undefeatable at first, but can slowly be whittled down makes for great fun play. Enemy design is fairly well-readable in general, although a way to judge enemy damage output would prove very helpful.
While the difficulty curve overall felt manageable, there are certain enemies whose damage output can very quickly end a run mid-way through if no block/heal dice are drawn for a turn or two. Either decreasing these enemies' damage output or changing how far into a run they appear may decrease a feeling of unfairness that can arise from this.
The final boss would definitely benefit from better decision-making, as currently it arranges its attacks in ways that often make little sense, and leaves it open to exploitation. It almost felt cheap how easy it was to take advantage of its mistakes--this isn't a problem for the regular enemies that sometimes make sub-optimal decisions, but the boss's symmetrical play means its misplays are all the more obvious.
Loved the game, very well made. An enjoyable experience most of the way through, with a satisfying conclusion. I'll be keeping an eye on this game in the future, and anticipate what future updates can bring to this already fun experience.
Terrain dice seem weak at first, but once upgraded they are super-powered. You need to know that placing a terrain dice on a previusly used spot adds to the counter, but does NOT increase the drop rate (i.e. 2x terrain dice on same spot is more than 2x as good).
With 2 gold terrain dice it's easy to get +10, +15 spots, which are so OP it breaks a lot of the game. With 3 ... you can easily cover the whole board in terrain +s. Much much more powerful than boost!
This game is really fun and has a lot of promise to become a much larger rouge lite. My friend did a vid on it and I checked out the game cuz of him. Thanks for da sick game

Really fun game!
I hate getting bullied by the three purple guys with bows and arrows 😭
This game is great and it's so cool how often the devs are updating it!
Two bugs I found:
1. When fighting the Bee with music and sfx muted when it goes into red mode the sound comes back on.
2. When you beat the frog the second time the text says "Not even with this cursed sword I can beat you" I think it's supposed to be "can I beat you"

it's annoying when you sometimes only get boost cards, it's even more annoying you died because you only had boost cards
This game is so good! Wish there were more floors tho ;-;
Facts
Finally~
^.^
This game is extremely fun and addicting keep you the good work!
This game is really nice and also really good for killing time, Very
cool
Short Version: [The FREE to Play Game was Super Hard & Fun but the Frog Boss was Super Normal]
i agree with you. Today i beat the other frog , i wonder what the unkown dice is. do you kown that?
It's Terrain/Growth Dice
Thank you
The dice on the title screen look very similar to the d6 from Binding of Isaac Rebirth.
fun and simple
incredibly fun!!
very easy to learn!
This looks really sick
The new UI looks great compared to the old one, but I wish you would have kept the dice-shaped boxes in most places, they looked really nice.
I just died at floor 25, and it told me I unlocked something, but nothing has changed other than the energy counter being at the top of the grid.
can anyone help me on what are some good strategies? i always get F and never been to 20+
when pattern, i try to use pattern. i tried more tactics of what to upgrade first.
what is "the best dice bag" ?

I would love a boardgame version of this

esse jogo e muito bom nmrl
This game is SO good!!!!!
I don't understand how you're supposed to avoid enraging the boss
Hey there, I am sorry to hear that, perhaps you miss the boss mechanic? It involves placing those honey dice correctly, once you understand it, it gets much easier!
Even with this, you need a really solid deck. The boss can wipe you out in one hit (20-30 damage depending on enraged or not).
It’s a tough game for sure, I think I beat the 20F boss after around ten tries.
This is a mix of Dicey Dungeons and Slay the Spire, which are some of my favorite games, and I am amazed it's free

what does the thingy after reaching the frog for the first time mean?
You mean the text that pops up? It means you have unlocked new content ^^

I have not! Will look more into that, thank you!

That might not be a bug, it might encourage you to play to expect that - keeping dice off their max level. Personally I like it

Very fun, really needs an option to save mid-game though. I reached the 17th floor, but had to quit (ran out of time to play).
Sorry to hear that! Will definetely think about it!
Finally beat the 20th floor, and I’m even more desperately in need of the ability to save :’)
What do you think is better, Hollow or Heavy? My friend and I disagree.
Heavy for heal/shield - hollow for attack
i put hollow on the purple dice
I love this game
Why can the queen bee literally one shot us
no you just need to fully shield when queen bee is red
how do you even know what to do with the queen bee? it doesn't tell you anything
well red dice is atk dice so that means a atk is coming
Cool game!
