While I think I saw hover text for "Glass", I don't think I saw info on other terms like "Hollow", "Heavy", etc. (this was the web version, hopefully the hover text works better in the downloaded version).
same, it was SO unfair because there are TOO many enemy attack you and they all do many(like higher than 5) attack in one turn
How are you going to block 15 attack with only THREE dice?
even worse: sometime you DO have block and buff ONLY and they just rolled 1/2, then you just waste another turn and lose health and deal NO attack (and they add armor and heal too)
for ee player: this is like IJ hard mode and you have 3 sins when start, so you are having nightmare room until you get super lucky removed sins
Found a bug, every time i run away from the rolling rollypolly event, i lose a die, AND THEN LOSE ALL MY ATTACK DICE THAT I HAVE. please fix, have now lost 4 runs because of this.
Pretty cool, not sure what the two first medal I'm missing are though =p beaten the game 3 times so far (well twice if you don't count the auto lose vs the last boss the first time), it's not very hard but it was a lot of fun.
I feel like the heavy dice are pretty broken considering they're basically one free dice every turn and on top of that they work very well with boost dice which are themselves very good.(though thankfully they don't scale with each other, so you tend to want a small number of dice and one good dice boost that basically becomes a wildcard that substitute for any type of dice you need). I'm pretty sure they also kinda break the last boss reducing the number of dice they use (probably because the spot they try to use is occupied).
There also isn't a whole lot of scaling in the game so it becomes very easy once you've cut enough bad dice in the early game and start upgrading. Almost died to my first encounter with the bee cause I didn't get how it worked initially but other than that I never really felt in danger.
I really like that the maximum shield scales with max health, it makes health upgrades actually very useful, that avoids the issue of health becoming irrelevant once you accumulate enough block generation. Though block itself becomes kinda redundant considering you can get healing dice that aren't glass (even heavy ones) so at this point taking damage isn't even an issue.
All that being said I just really like the board things and I think it's very well used considering the small scope of the game, lots of varied ways ennemies try to screw with iti. Though I would like if there was a bit more feedback on what ennemies actually can do and are going to do. It's not very hard once you remember the attacks and general power of each ennemy but it can be a bit frustrating to not know how dangerous an ennemy is and it probably pushed me to play a lot more defensive than I needed to, maximizing my block "just in case". I'm pretty sure adding ennemy intent like in slay the spire would allow to increase the difficulty without feeling unfair and just make the game generally better.
I love this game so much. If you're still doing updates, I'd love to see some accessibility options like using keys to pick up die, or maybe click to pick up and click to drop - I got old people hands, and click-and-drag gets a bit painful by like level 10
This is a super fun and addictive game to play! I have spent nearly all day playing this game today, because it's just so much fun. However, since I've played it for nearly 20 hours now, there's a few things I'd like to point out. First, when i was starting to learnt he game, it was really difficult to figure out the mechanics for each type of dice, the heavy/hollow effects, and the way different monsters behave. Because there was no tutorial or key (that I could find), I had to figure out all the mechanics by trial and error. Secondly, I noticed that there is no way to close out of the game. The only way I've been able to exit is by manually shutting down the program from outside the game. Unless there is something i'm missing, I strongly encourage that to be added. And finally, the letter rating seems kind of pointless. No matter how I play the game, I always seem to get an F? If there's something I'm missing please let me know. Overall this is a super fun game that I can sit down and play endlessly, and I would 100% recommend to others.
What is the letter ranking base on, anyway? I get an F every time, even after managing to beat the first boss. As a new player figuring out the game, it kind of kills my motivation a bit to always be scored at the very bottom.
Also, I can't seem to quit the game other than setting it to windows mode and closing it manually. Is there a menu option I'm missing?
Aside from that though, great fun to play and the music is fantastic. Also cute frog.
Very cute game with a solid foundation of a classic deck building roguelike. While it isn't quite on the same level of polish as something like Slay the Spire, Die in the Dungeon is a great and quick experience easily worth a few hours of gameplay.
It's a really nice and addictive little gem. But I can't figure out logic behind deck building - what heavy does, why would i discard dice, and which one id keep and how does this translate in battles? I'd refine some of those systems to be more clear and fun. Sometimes battles drag on for way too long.
Max Hammer summed it up really well. I just wanted to add, ultimately you want as few dices as possible. Doing that ensures that you will always get the best dice you have
I agree with both of these. Terrain die are pretty much dead weight, and grow becomes way too overpowered if you can get a grow die and then find the event that lets you put heavy on it. (but don't fix that for a little while because it's still really fun to pull off XD )
And 15 is less than 20 you're still taking like 4+ wich if that happens every turn you die if you can't get reuseable heals you just kinda die. It's possible just feels limiting making that stuff mandatory to have
Wow that's great! How did it not make it to the video ? Hope it was at least in the top 100! Really good game, the music is really good, and i need to go to sleep bye lol
It means you can play a dice without an energy cost. Basically, usually you can play a limited amount of dice per turn, but hollow dice will not count. So if you usually can play 3 dice, you could play 3 attack dice, but STILL be able to play a hollow Terrain dice
The enemy marks three tiles. You have to cover all these tiles to avoid taking massive damage. (If you cover them all, you tak 5 damage, if you don't the damage is much higher)
are there permanent upgrades? if not, i think they would be a good addition, due to having to play it several times. i dont think the permanent upgrades should be EASY, i just think it would be good to have

I'am sorry, but version for Linux doesn't work. However, the game itself is great!
It works fine for me (5.15.63-gentoo-dist), what error is it throwing?
Finally... thanks for the game :D
I got an F with 0 points even though I lasted 17 floors!? I was enjoying myself till then.
Me too. I even fought the queen bee for some time but eventually succumbed to not drawing my block dice. Seems to be a bug?
oh good, its not just me
Dying before the final boss is always an F, I think
yep

The game is really simple but still catches me off-guard! It gets really challenging later on and you need to use actual strategy!
I have wishlisted on Steam and can't wait for it to release.
Great Job
very fun little game
Hey buddy, just from the start this new update is fresh! Everything is more clear except for the finish turn button. Already wishlisted on Steam!
Fun Game! We wrote a small review for your game!

This one is a personal favorite! I love dice based games!
I don't know if it is on my end but the game screen turns dark with music still playing in the middle of playing.
Great game, feels really polished. I've beaten 25th floor twice now, and it does have a roguelike feel, with the ability to feel extra strong.
Keep up the good work!
Found a bug, every time i run away from the rolling rollypolly event, i lose a die, AND THEN LOSE ALL MY ATTACK DICE THAT I HAVE. please fix, have now lost 4 runs because of this.
I beat the game? what with this skul-like force death event.
if you replay you can actually fight the boss
Damn, this is a brilliant game, it was a surprise. You should sell this on steam or something, even if you keep the free version here.
Hey ! how can i beat the frog in floor 25, it one shot me with 45 dame
It always does that the first time you reach floor 25, go back and you can actually fight it
Your game is hard and I hate the RNG but I can't stop playing.
android plz
Will it be available for Android? Also love the game :D
Very cool :D
Love It!
Love the game. It's very addicting.
plz add good end that saves big frog ;__;

kinda fun but it seems the RNG is a bit bad
and a lot of explanations are missing

You only get a letter rating when you beat the final boss, which you can't do the first time you reach them.
I used to a little discouraged by the Fs, until I mentally decided that I was being rated "Frog" and was like, "yeah, that's *right*"
Very cute game with a solid foundation of a classic deck building roguelike. While it isn't quite on the same level of polish as something like Slay the Spire, Die in the Dungeon is a great and quick experience easily worth a few hours of gameplay.
Simple and moreish! Are there any plans to add any extra types of dice or ones with different weights?
It's a really nice and addictive little gem. But I can't figure out logic behind deck building - what heavy does, why would i discard dice, and which one id keep and how does this translate in battles? I'd refine some of those systems to be more clear and fun. Sometimes battles drag on for way too long.
Heavy makes the die stay on the board for extra turns and it's very useful.
You want to discard dice so that you can draw your best dice more often.
Max Hammer summed it up really well. I just wanted to add, ultimately you want as few dices as possible. Doing that ensures that you will always get the best dice you have
oh yeah babyyyy
the terrain dice needs a MAJOR buff to make it worth it and grow needs a nerf
whats the terrain dice?
I agree with both of these. Terrain die are pretty much dead weight, and grow becomes way too overpowered if you can get a grow die and then find the event that lets you put heavy on it. (but don't fix that for a little while because it's still really fun to pull off XD )
You... realize you can still upgrade terrain dice after you reach gold tier, right?
Using it with mirror helps a lot
I got F. I am good? :D Cute frog, really nice game! <3
game's fun but it really shouldn't be possible for enemies to hit you for over 20DMG total reusable healing feels mandatory
in the late game you need to be able to get at least 15 shield per turn using mirror and hollow dice
And 15 is less than 20 you're still taking like 4+ wich if that happens every turn you die if you can't get reuseable heals you just kinda die. It's possible just feels limiting making that stuff mandatory to have
the miracle die is a healing die that can be reused
yeah but you kinda need it every run, that's the problem
Wow that's great! How did it not make it to the video ? Hope it was at least in the top 100! Really good game, the music is really good, and i need to go to sleep bye lol
Gonna play it more later!
Oh also the orange text on the green background on the page is hard to read
what does hollow do
It means you can play a dice without an energy cost. Basically, usually you can play a limited amount of dice per turn, but hollow dice will not count. So if you usually can play 3 dice, you could play 3 attack dice, but STILL be able to play a hollow Terrain dice
thank you dude
How does the Vile Modifier work?
Ok now I get it
what does it do
The enemy marks three tiles. You have to cover all these tiles to avoid taking massive damage. (If you cover them all, you tak 5 damage, if you don't the damage is much higher)
i really like it but im trash and dont understand the mechanics behind the bee boss

are there permanent upgrades? if not, i think they would be a good addition, due to having to play it several times. i dont think the permanent upgrades should be EASY, i just think it would be good to have
